Cornerstone Crisis Residential is a home-like facility that provides short-term residential treatment for those experiencing a psychiatric crisis in Placer County.
Short-term residential treatment services include crisis intervention in a supportive, group living environment for adults who are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms. Treatment is designed for individuals who need an intermediate step between a hospital stay and returning home or who wish for a more structured, supportive setting in order to prevent psychiatric hospitalization.
Cornerstone is located in Roseville, CA. The program accepts admissions twenty-four hours a day, seven days per week.
Persons experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms are referred to Cornerstone through psychiatrists, case managers, therapists and accepting insurance companies. Admission is voluntary.
New residents develop a plan with Cornerstone staff which specifies client participation and services planned, as well as treatment specific to the individual’s need. Cornerstone staff provide services and support necessary for each resident to complete their plan.
Services emphasize defining and limiting the crisis, planning for the immediate and long-term future, and mobilizing appropriate community, family and personal resources. This is accomplished through both group planning and individual counseling sessions. In addition to working on individual goals, each resident participates in the daily activities of the household. This includes sharing in preparing and serving meals, cleaning and care of the house and grounds.
All services are coordinated with the Placer County Adult System of Care and mental health providers to ensure continuity of treatment.
